"Getting better requires being social at times, isolated at others, eking out whatever work you can, but asking for help when you can’t. You become a beggar. You become independent. You humble yourself. You lose face. All things you could never bear before. The Healingvrse is a good place to learn what real autonomy looks like. Nobody will ever come and bail you out of your situation. The world, you learn, will move on with or without you. The dinner parties, the family events, even your child growing up. So all that’s left is your world, however shitty." - So relatable. That was a fascinating and insightful essay. I've read about other people with serious health conditions who were bedridden who were able to heal themselves through such practices as flow. It didn't work for me. However, I did heal from Lyme, after so many treatments before that, via LDN. It was the last push that put me into remission, at least with Lyme. They use it as the last solution when people can't heal from Lyme. It makes me think of flow because it chemically gives you an influx of endorphins that you don't normally get being chronically ill and maybe that helps the body start working more efficiently.
